Lineout: throw, Lineout Rugby

Description

Players will need to ensure their throw is accurate and timed right to ensure success.

Although any players can take the line out throw it is usually the hooker who takes the responsibility.

Coaching Points

Right handed throwers should plant their right foot forwards and move your weight onto your front foot.

With the right hand near the back of the ball for power and the left hand nearer the front for direction bring your arms back behind your head and then over your head in a smooth motion upon hearing the call.

The left hand should roll the ball to apply spin and hands should follow through rather than coming to an abrupt stop.
