2v2 games are good for this Gary.Use a pitch of 30yrds x 30, tel your players they can only use 3 touches. Have a goal at both ends and tell them they can score in either goal.It really gets them thinking more and they have to move because of only having 3 touches, although it is hard to mark players because of being able to score in either goal. Have fun. Ash.

Hi Gary, I pic these out the library for you - make the grid about for the running exercise about 20 yrds. Why I do for younger kids is to have a queue on each cone, so 7 players so that one of them does the running but has a chance to recover before running again.

also try do really small goals woth no goalkepper so this way thge only way they can score is by passing the ball because they can't shoot from where they like and score hope this helps

get your team in a big cicle and pass the ball around. Then you select a player who has the ball they pass on the ball and then run around the circle. The aim for the player is to get back to thier place before the ball.

You can work with a small (but very wide) pitch and two small goals per side. This is a very dynamic game in which they soon find out that they can score loads if they just switch the play enough.

You can condition the game by replacing the goals by cones and saying that you can only score by passing to another player through the cones. This means they can't just dribble the ball into the goal.

However, don't be too hard on their desire to run with the ball. This is characteristic of this age. They will only want to do things with the ball at their feet. Unfortunately, movement without the ball and passing do not belong in that category but they develop that awareness over time.

Set up 6 cones as shown with a ball with player 1. On a signal, 1 passes long diagonal to 2 and sprints to join that cone. 2 plays first time in the direction of 5 but only a stun pass for 3 to run onto and play first time to 4. Meanwhile, 2 goes to 3 cone. 4 controls and plays long diagonal to 5 and follows to join that cone. 5 repeats the stun pass in the direction of where 2 started and moves to 6 as 6 runs onto the ball and plays first time to 7 and joins that cone. 7 now controls and starts the whole sequence again by passing second touch to where 1 now is and so on. Start all with control and pass then move

Progress. Add an extra player (8) at cone 4 and add a second ball with 4. The sequence is now repeated with 2 balls in play and all players passing.

Build up so that only at cones 1 & 4 are two touch, the rest are first time passes only.
