Description

-The players start in regular doubles formations.
-The receivers partner attempts to intercept down the middle.
-The players swop round after 6-8 rallies so that each player gets to play in each position.

Coaching Points

  • This drill is pretty demanding unless the players are very advanced. The coach might have to adapt as appropriate if the players find the task too demanding.
  • Adaptations can include server being allowed second serves only or that the net players are both allowed to attempt interception anytime during the rally whenever an opportune shot presents itself.
