Drills to improve shooting! ie the actual shot itself. Our shooter is brillant at getting in crazy long shots... but not consistantly. any tips?
consistent technique is the key give her a couple of kepy points to stick to whist shooting 1. arm long with elbow in line with ear 2. Ball sitting on pads of fingers 3. knees bend , elbow bend( pointing straight at hoop ,not to the side) 4. then pump from balls of feet and straighten legs, arm 5. followthrough fingers following ball looking like a duck's head Drills -give your shooter different shooting cards to work on the above technique 1. 20 shots close range reduction ie if you miss one go back one , eg. start with 20 then if you get it in go down to 19 and so on but if you miss one go back up one , keep going until you get to zero 2. 20 shots medium range with 1 arm (dominant arm) 3. 10 shot close to medium with eyes closed , set up shot look above ring then close eyes and execute shot (this is a really good way of feeling the technique 4.Face away from goal medium range throw ball in air catch ball and land and pivot(first left foot then right ) then shoot x 10 on each foot 5.4 Lines of 5 mark 5 crosses with chalk starting close and working out along baseline then at 45' then along other base and 45' start close get one in move to next cross if you miss go back to front X you can make up other shooting cards with shooting after stepping back , front to the side etc.,
