what are some really good passing and catching drills for advanced 15 years olds?
Asked using Sportplan on Mobile
any drill can be adapted to suit any age group and ability, you just have to think, how can i make this harder. generally introducing a second or third ball, going in a different direction or pattern, to keep their focus in more than one area, or changing the spacing between the players, to make it further apart so their passes are longer and stronger, or closer so that they have to react very quickly. anything that is fast and keeps them moving, and thinking. so take an old fav, and adapt it.
An idea here would be to have pairs of girls, and get them to stand relatively close to each other. One has a ball and one doesn't. The person with the pass does any kind of pass, high, either side, straight or even rolling it or dropping it at their feet. Each pass should be recieved effectively and returned to the partner who will quickly give out another random pass. This will help your girls with watching the ball and being able to pick up any pass as well as thinking on their feet.
Hope this helps!!! :-)
