I have just been given a team of 10 (10yo girls) to manage. As a parent who has not played for a number of years, can you point me in the right direction on this site for position selection for the game. It is an 8 week summer comp and the girls are happy to have a go at all the positions. They play a winter comp and have a proper coach. I have been asked to help as she is not available for this comp
as long a you are happy to not be competitive then I would break the team up into defence (GK GD OFF), mid court (WA WD C OFF) and attack (GA GS OFF). no it isn`t a fair system as each week 2 girls will sit off for half a game at each end while every one else will only sit off for a quarter. The other option is to sit on person out the entire game each week and then everyone else sits off for 1 quarter each game. I would still break the group into defence, attack and mid court players, to keep a more consistent team. I have used both of these rotations and they both have advantages and disadvantages. Work out which one is best for your team. Good Luck with your season.
