ive noticed that i can shoot very well on my netball ring at home but i cannot shoot very well anywhere else. I dont know why this is and i was wondering if anyone could help me?
Its no good practising at home unless you simulate game day situations, place 5 cones 1 meter from the goal ring, start at the first one, try and shoot the goal without touching the sides of the ring. If sucessful go the the secound cone, if you get it thru but it touches the sides of the ring, sprint outside the goal circle and back to the cone. If you miss altogeather you have to sprint al the way to the center circle, this simulates a game day situation and puts more presure on you action under game day presure.
i am a shooter and i dont practise at home at all.. i go to the game a little earlier and practise there so that familiarizes me with the rings etc and the weather conditions... Practice makes perfect so they say.. Goodluck and don't give up
I agree that it is better to practice at your courts and maybe do other activities at home, core exercises etc. Partner up with a team mate so you can make regular sessions in addition to your normal training.
It is a good idea to practice as much as you can. It sounds like the pressure being put on you by the defending player may be putting you off. When you practice your shooting, at home or elsewhere, try asking someone to join you and defend your shots. This will give you more practice at working under pressure.
thanks jenny...
