can any one help me really desperate - i need help i am trying to plan a session for my linking of 3 stages of defence but i am struggling has anyone have a session plan that i can use for reference whilst setting out my session plan any layouts and pointers would be VERY much appreciated Thank you
have a look at the session plans here. i dont tend to have session plans for my older kids, just my U5s. see if you can adapt some of the their defence lessons plans into what you want.
I don't tend to use a pre-prepared session plan but do usually structure training towards improving/developing a skill set. First you need to make sure your players know what the three stages actually are and why they are used. As you have asked for a session to link them, you probably have done this and have already introduced the individual components i.e. 1 - one on one marking attacker to stop incoming pass, 2 - recover to .9m & cover ball to limit options for next pass, 3 - delay attacker to deny space & limit movement for next offer. If you are happy with your players' techniques in each of these components you can build them into many simple passing drills on this site where you can incorporate a defender. For example a simple end to end passing routine with attacker & defender in each area can have these added in or a simple 4on4 game in 1/3. Build up to a scratch match or half court game where the focus is only on using the 3 stages of Defence for that session.
