Play a 2 v 2 mini-match, on which setters and spikers play their roles throughout. Spikers dig and take kills while setters only set. All attacks go crosscourt.
In this exercise we take match situation in which the receiver needs to be stable in underhand passing (digging) and spiking. Beside accuracy, fast movement and moving from offense to defense is mastered.
Key rule of digging is to pass it high so a setter has enough time to set up position and overhand pass with proper accuracy and power. Ask players to do so.
