Rugby Match Related Drill: 3 vs 2 - Support Running

 
 

Description

    3 vs 2 in a grid.

    Defenders must stay in position to start.

    Once skills progress defenders can move to try and stop attackers either by intercepting the ball or touch tackling the ball carrier.

Coaching Points

    Run at inside shoulder of the defender.

    Take space if offered as well as try a dummy.

    Pass flat (for, not at, the receiver.

    Support after the pass.

    Keep your depth.

    Communication is vital.

    Draw defender before passing.
